By Mike Smith – Solution Engineer, DocuSign.

The DocuSign Spring 17 Release (Autumn for those of us “Down Under”) is live and has some great new features for our customers.

In my role as a Solutions Engineer, I get first hand exposure to the features that DocuSign’s prospects and customers find add real value to their use of DocuSign. Below you can find my key picks from our recent quarterly release.

Show me the money! DocuSign Payments is live in Australia.
I’m personally excited that now you can seamlessly collect payments during signing with Apple Pay, Android Pay and via credit card.  There are many scenarios where getting payment at the time your customer signs makes sense, including sales orders, renewals, service agreements, donations and more.

You can use fixed amount, user entered or formulas to calculate the amount payable.  It’s easy to let customers choose multiple items like a shopping basket and pay when they sign.  The initial release supports one time payments via Stripe (in AUD, USD, GBP, EUR and CAD).  And, look out for additional payment gateways DocuSign is adding in upcoming releases, along with the ability for recurring payments.

DocuSign and Google.
DocuSign and Google have already made it easy to “DocuSign” from a range of Google products including Chrome, Gmail, Google Drive and DocuSign’s mobile app for Android.  Now you can also sign documents from within Google Docs – how good is that?!  As a ‘Recommended for G Suite App’, DocuSign integrates directly with Google Cloud tools.  The Recommended for G Suite program assesses and recommends apps that are secure, reliable, high-performing and well-integrated with G Suite.

What’s new in “New”?
We have feedback from our customers that they love DocuSign’s “New” Experience UI for its streamlined and intuitive interface.  Some of our customers say they still feel a strong affinity with the Classic experience they are used to.

The good news is, with each release DocuSign is adding more advanced functionality to the New Experience making it harder to resist – and you more productive.  We’ve recently added more precise control of template matching.  You can now easily control which templates are considered for matching and use Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR) in your templates.

DocuSign lets you easily specify a different language for different recipients in a single envelope.  You can customise the email subject and message in the appropriate language and DocuSign will automatically update our standard email text (e.g. View Documents button) into the language you select.  So, if your signers are all around the world, DocuSign has you covered.

These are my top picks, but of course there are plenty of new features in our quarterly and monthly releases.  To find your own favourites, you can keep track of all the latest releases on our support site https://support.docusign.com/en/releasenotes.
