Employee Spotlight: Hanna Bjorn
Our “Employee Spotlight” blog series places the spotlight on DocuSign employees based in Australia who tell us about why they decided to join DocuSign, what they do here, how working in Australia is and more. At DocuSign, we want employees to look back at their time here and say they did the work of their life at DocuSign. This week we sat down with Hanna Bjorn in Sales based in Sydney to learn more about her career.
What do you do at DocuSign and what do you enjoy most about your role?
I am a Renewal Manager and I look after existing customers in APAC. My role is ensuring our customers are happy, renewing their contracts and to identify other areas of their businesses that can benefit from our services. The best part is that I get to speak with our customers everyday and hear how DocuSign is helping them.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in Sales?
Those who know me well, know that I have always been (very) competitive and enjoy a challenge. In sales I always work towards reaching and exceeding my targets. Additionally, the social aspects of the role speak to me. Of course, being rewarded well for the work I do is important to me.
What made you decide to work at DocuSign?
There were several reasons. It was a solution I was excited about and that I felt would genuinely have a positive impact on people’s lives. I also really like the focus on giving back to the community and the positive impact it has on the environment. Lastly, the company was and is in a really good position, with massive opportunities to grow. And of course, the trip to Seattle – the original DocuSign headquarters – for new hire onboarding!
What is the best part about working at DocuSign in Sydney?
The people! It is amazing how open and welcoming people are. People genuinely want to see you do well and are always willing to help. Also, as a Norwegian who is not used to seeing the sun for two months a year, I am really enjoying that our office is a two-minute walk from the botanical gardens. Lunch break in the sun makes any day better.
How is working at DocuSign different than other companies you have worked at?
I’ve never worked in a company with so many opportunities. In my 1.5 years here, I’ve had the chance to work in three different roles. If you are willing to learn and put in the work, you will be able to move up and take on new challenges.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about applying for a role at DocuSign?
Do it! Really, you have nothing to lose by applying. Also, don’t underestimate your abilities. Particularly if you are interested in changing your career and going into Sales, it is all about your attitude and willingness to learn.
Tell us something about yourself that not many people know.
Outside of work, I play soccer, I am a goal keeper for a division 1 team in the eastern suburbs. I also ride a motorcycle!

Doing the work of my life is working for a company whose character is defined through action. DocuSign has such high values around environmental impact and the footprint it has already made and that it continues to make is incredible. Knowing not only my specific role, but the entire company’s stance is helping people everywhere around the world, cultivating productivity and efficiency through its people, products, and profits to make a difference is remarkable.
