Employee Spotlight: Nick Raymond

Our “Employee Spotlight” blog series places the spotlight on DocuSign employees based in Australia who tell us about why they decided to join DocuSign, what they do here, how working in Australia is and more. At DocuSign, we want employees to look back at their time here and say they did the work of their life at DocuSign. This week we sat down with Nick Raymond in Sales based in Sydney to learn more about his career.

What do you do at DocuSign and what do you enjoy most about your role?

I am an Account Executive working with SMB businesses across Australia.

Undeniably the environmental impact of our products. It’s also extremely rewarding working with customers to solve simple and complex problems to enable them to do business faster with less risk, lower costs, and better experiences for customers and employees.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in Sales?

My dad - he typifies what it means to be a hard worker. If I could achieve just half of what he has I would be happy. He has spent most of his life working for technology companies and it’s all I have ever known since growing up.

Tell us something about yourself that not many people know.

I used to co-host a breakfast radio show with two of my best mates. Thankfully I don’t think the recordings are anywhere but on local hard drives…hopefully they don’t resurface anytime soon.

What made you decide to work at DocuSign?

I interviewed with three different companies before I was offered the opportunity to speak to DocuSign. After my first interview it quickly became apparent this was the place I wanted to work.

The people, product and processes all aligned with everything I was looking for. Entering the workforce straight from university I was looking for a company that would support my growth and development and that was built around a great product.

I’ve been here for 2 years now and still wake up each day enjoying what I do.

How is working at DocuSign different than other companies you have worked at?

In all seriousness, every place I have worked prior has been a great experience for me (I used to run a breakfast radio show and worked at a service centre).

DocuSign cares a lot about their employees, customers success and the impact they can have on the environment. I have grown a lot both professionally and personally since starting here.

I’ve also been extremely lucky to progress my career working under some great leaders and with very talented colleagues. I started as a Sales Development Representative, then moved into an Enterprise Business Representative role and am now an Account Executive.

Our CEO says he wants everybody to say they did the work of their life at DocuSign. What does “doing the work of your life” look like for you?

For me – this means being supported by amazing managers who want you to succeed, being able to learn from every person you speak to in the company and selling a great product that empowers businesses.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about applying for a role at DocuSign?

Go for it – I honestly can’t speak highly enough of everyone in our office, their talent and career progression opportunities.

What is the best part about working at DocuSign in Sydney?

Before working from home started, it was a tossup between the food and location; always a nice spot to eat lunch at and there are plenty of gyms near. Zilia salads are up there – but order online to save yourself waiting in the queue.
