Transaction Rooms integrates with your favorite cloud storage services

In late 2013, the DocuSign Transaction Rooms team gave users the ability to add documents from third-party cloud storage services. We receive a lot of great feedback from agents and brokers, and we’ve found that many of you are using services like Dropbox and Google Drive to store your documents. Our goal is for DocuSign Transaction Rooms to be a one-stop shop, and we want to make adding documents/forms/templates from cloud storage services as easy as possible.

All paid DocuSign Transaction Room accounts connect with Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and Box. This integration can be used in two sections within the application:

1. The My Docs section

2. Within the Documents tab inside a transaction room

This integration allows you to import files from the cloud storage service into Transaction Rooms. For example, if you add a document from Dropbox, the document will appear in both Dropbox and Transaction Rooms. It’s important to note that if you make a change to the document in Dropbox, you’ll need to pull that updated version into Transaction Rooms, as the changes do not sync and vice versa.

Let’s take a closer look at the integration with Dropbox. Say I want to add a mold disclosure from my template folder stored in my Dropbox account. The first thing I will do is head to the Transaction Room I want to upload this mold disclosure to and click on the Documents tab. Next, I’ll click on the Add button in the upper right and select Dropbox. Here I will need to sign in to my Dropbox account.

I will then locate the mold disclosure and click the check mark next to the file name.

You can copy any documents that aren’t grayed out. The grayed-out documents are file types we do not support. Once I have my file selected, I click Choose. The file will now upload into the Transaction Room, giving you the ability to sign, fax, email, and more.

Do you currently use any of these cloud storage services? If so, which one? Let us know in the comment section below, and stay tuned for more real estate tips!
